Interests Chart | Too Many Interests

About a month ago, I was thinking about the many different interests I have. Some things are curiosities. For example, I've always been fascinated by set design and would love to try that out sometime. In other cases, I want to make myself a more well-rounded person: better handwriting, fluency in languages, etc. I always find myself bouncing from one interest to the next, but can never stay focused enough to actually learn that language, nor driven enough to pursue being a set designer.

When I started returning to some of same interests, it was time to make a list to organize and perhaps prioritize. For a week, I kept a list on my phone named "I wanna..." It was a list to jot down any whim I wanted to pursue. As the list grew longer, I found myself using some of the same words: "be good at..." "regularly..." "make...." After my brainstorm died down, I realized these words represented different kinds of interests, so I categorized the list by those secondary/modifier words.

What developed was an interesting kind of hierarchy, dictated by the words used to complete the sentence. Some reflected my desire to "be" a certain way, while others were more action based: to do "regularly" or to "try"... To really make it work, I had to get creative with some of the wording, but it gave me the idea for a diagram.

Here's a concept mockup of what I have in mind:

I-wanna_Concept It's a little like a subway system map, but the paths are supposed to help string each sentence together and group categories together through the words that precede them.

I'm still working on applying this graphic style to the whole list, which is MUCH longer. I just have too many interests!
